Suki vs management: It's (legal) war!

No one could see it coming. Malaysian pop star Suki Low has filed a lawsuit against her management and record label, Galaxy Music.

In her (shocking) official statement to The Daily Chilli on Thursday, the One In A Million reality show winner says she is suing Galaxy Music for misrepresentation and breach of contract.

No further explanation has been given to the press.



Apparently, trouble started brewing between the beautiful singer and her management during her promo stint in Taiwan late last year.

Insiders have told The Daily Chilli that Suki wasn't happy about her work arrangement in Taiwan, which included a hectic work schedule.

She was also upset by her management's accusations that she lacked discipline and commitment towards her career.

The 21-year-old has already found her footing in Taiwan by starring in a teen idol series, Four Gifts (Nu Wang Bu Xia Pan).

The romantic comedy starred one of Malaysia's biggest exports to Taiwan, pop star actor Nicholas Teo.

Meanwhile, Chris Wang, the general manager of Galaxy Music has denied the allegations, saying, "Galaxy Music, which is part of the Galaxy Group, is a reputable company. We do not force our artistes into doing things that are not in their contract. I personally spotted the talent in Suki, and I tried to groom her the way I groomed Nicholas Teo, who is a big star in Taiwan now.

"Any Malaysian acts who have made it in Taiwan will tell you that it takes a lot of hard work there. Competition is really stiff. You've got to be among the best."

On Suki's lawsuit, Chris says he received the legal papers on Dec 9. "I've handed the matter to the company's lawyers."
