Irma Nici

Becks plans legal attack over hooker claims

The footballer is said to want In Touch magazine to make a front-page retraction for claiming he paid for sex with two prostitutes.

The 35-year-old will chase publisher Bauer for a six-figure sum in the High Court, it is understood. Judges could enforce a ruling in Germany, where the magazine also operates.

Beckham has reportedly been told action in the US was unlikely to succeed because of the degree of importance placed on freedom of speech.

David Beckham and Victoria Beckham are putting on a united front after the call girl claims

Cheating claims surfaced on Wednesday when it was revealed Irma Nici had spoken to the gossip magazine claiming to have bedded Beckham several times in September 2007.

Victoria is said to be standing firmly behind her man and has reportedly told her husband she does not believe the assertions and reassured him that he had nothing to worry about as nobody else would believe the rumours either.

A friend of the 36-year-old designer told the Daily Mirror: "She says she is behind David 100% - and is refusing to let these totally unfounded claims interfere with their lives."

Dad-of-three David was ‘bewildered’ when he discovered the magazine was going to publish the "lies" and phoned his wife of 11 years minutes before the magazine went out in America.

But the couple are putting on a united front and it seems to be "business as usual" in the Beckham household.

Proving Posh isn't perturbed by the gossip, the pal added: "She has a Spring 2011 collection to tie up, and some contractual publicity bits and pieces which she has no intention of pulling out of."

David also has a lot on his plate without having to fight the claims. This weekend he will jet out to Trinidad and Tobago to help work on England’s World Cup bid as well as working on this Christmas advertising campaign.

Yesterday he was announced as the new face of EA Sports Active 2 campaign.
